John Tilt - Stafford Tattoo Studio |
|
Since as far back as I can remember, I've always wanted to draw and paint. I developed an early skill which developed during my late teens and I've painted portraits for over twenty years now. Unfortunately, I could not utilize my art as a career until I discovered the art of tattooing. I bought some tattoo equipment 3 years ago and I worked on family and friends for about a year. I luckily met award winning tattooist Andy Morris and he offered me a short apprenticeship which I joyfully accepted. Andy Morris and Tony Slodger taught me sophisticated tattooing techniques, particularly the art of black and grey shading. 6 months later I moved to the Dudley Bodyart Studio and I continued my advanced training with Carl Zambra. Here I was taught the technique and importance of colour, principally in "new school" designs. 6 months later an opening arose for me at the Stafford Bodyart Studio and I have worked there since. I now work with tattoo artist Katt Whyton In the short 3 years that have passed, tattooing has now become a complete way of life for me and I sincerely thank everyone who as helped and given me this great opportunity.
