Katt Whyton - Stafford Studio
kattwhyton_portfolio.jpgI first realized I wanted to be a tattooist when I was about 12! My friend's aunty had sent a bunch of magazines over from America and nestled in amongst them was a tattoo magazine. I remember looking through and seeing girls in there with a couple of small tattoos and saying to my friend, "im gonna be a tattooist when im older…and im gonna be covered in 'em!"

When I was 17 I got a job working at 'Spikes' in Wolverhampton where I learned the ins and outs of reception work and a good idea of health and safety procedures.

I began to get tattooed heavily at Midland tattoo centre in Cannock by Kev Shercliffe and made good friends with Andy Morris who later let me watch his shop whilst he was away and introduced me to Jo Harrison, who was to give me my apprenticeship.

After 4 years of working in and around the industry I eventually moved on to tattooing from home (tut tut!) and eventually after 5 years of on and off tattooing and baby making (hello Logan!) I settled into a new home at Body Art Studio, Dudley with the lovely Carl and Deana. After a few months they had faith enough to send me to manage the Stafford branch of Body Art Studios.

I really enjoy doing bold colour tattoos, but here any and every style is catered for in a friendly hygienic and fun atmosphere, where you’ll feel at home and like an old friend.
